I Blame Society (and human nature)

Please correct me if you think I am wrong.

Yep, just like almost everyone else in my demographic, I blame society. You ask yourself, Why would someone like that go as low as to blame everything on society? Well thats a damn good question, because I try not to be the type to just find a scapegoat for my own actions. But the way I see it, we are not all completely responsible for our own actions, considering we are all just human and we are very much shaped by the forces of society (also greed, power, evil, religion (which is part of society), politics (also society), etc. but I will save those for another day).

Have you ever noticed that if someone is just a little different, we automatically assume something is wrong? Consider this. A teen in school usually gets good grades. But then they start to get worse. He is easily distracted and is not longer interested by school. Something must be wrong with him. His parents are concerned and so they take him to a psychologist and he gets diagnosed with ADHD. He gets medication to make him "normal" again. This is seriously wrong! What happened to the days when 'boys were boys,' and we were not expected to be interested in school. It used to be that people had their own talents and were respected for it. Society just has no room for deviance anymore.

Almost anything can be traced back to society. Excuses make life easier!

OIL!!!!!

If you did not already know, the price of oil is now over $100 per barrel!!!

That is right, while you are sitting on your couch reading this because you are unemployed now, those rich people in the oil business are raking in three figures per hour! And all you have to say is that you are up to three beers per hour.

But please realize, how many of you out there drive/ own/ have ridden in/ somehow associated with a car? Exactly. You should all be raising your hand. If you are not then you are probably an environmental SOCIALIST. COMMIE! So it would be un-American to not use fossil fuels in some way. Whether you like it or not, we are dependent on oil, so maybe we are screwed, but suck it up and get a job making more oil!

People are Dumb

I do not mean this in any offense to anyone in particular, but the mass majority of people are just dumb. Now I am not saying I am not dumb, because I probably am, but a large number of people really are just not very smart.

By dumb (stupid, unintelligent, ignorant, dull, mindless, you get the point), what do I mean? For clarification, I do not mean academically. There are plenty of people who get A's all through school yet never learn a thing, but there are also people who don't turn in a single assignment but have greater insight and knowledge than the valedictorian. What I mean by dumb is the inability to use logical reasoning and defend your well thought out ideas in an understandable manner, but also not being able to open up your mind to new ideas that differ from your own. Basically, I consider being dumb not being able to think well.

Over the years, many, if not most, of the people I have observed create an opinion, not based on any reasoning, and stick to it, despite all of the possible inaccuracies in it. Then, when someone contradicts it, or does not agree with it, and gives facts as to why their statement is false, the person often breaks down, gets angry, or just does not listen. No one's mind is changed, and nothing gets done (sounds like our government!). And so the process continues, the dumb people create fallacies, other dumb people go along with it, the smarter person proves them wrong, the dumb person does not listen, nothing gets done.

I try to live my life based on facts, and to be the smart person in this futile cycle, yet I may be wrong, so please, if you disagree, prove that I am wrong, and I will listen, but you better have proof. I encourage everyone to listen to each other better and evaluate better, Don't be Dumb.
